Wairakei, Day 4Today you will be playing your second round of golf at the magical golf course at Wairakei. This challenging course, designed by Major John Harris, is located in an unusual geothermal area. With trees in the middle of the fairways, the ball must be lofted high to plateau greens, which are usually protected by bunkers. Steam rising from underground adds to the mystique of this course. After a morning on the golf course there will be an opportunity to enjoy one of the many leisure activities that Taupo has to offer. You may choose to be pampered with a massage, relax in the spa pool or try your hand at rainbow trout fishing in the lake and rivers. In New Zealand we measure trout in kilograms not inches! This evening you will enjoy the excellent cuisine of the Lodge chef. |
